With all the applications that Google allows has this is a very viable option when you need to have files stored on the cloud for access from almost anywhere. Some of the applications you can use: There are countless other applications as well as methods for access your 'Mailbox' as an internet share.

We have found Skype to be a very useful tool for audio and video calls.

USB Flash Drives

These little gems can be a blessing, however you should use them with a little caution and here are a few applications that will help:

DropBox Portable:
Is a portable application that will allow you to sync multiple devices, this application uses AES with 256 bit encryption. The program has a few flaws… requires windows, may not run on public access systems, and windows updates could effect it.

PortableApps:
On your USB drives, you want to carry software that you need, and for that the PortableApps Suite really is outstanding. It's almost like carrying your own computer with you, without the hassle of actually doing so. Login to any strange machine, and you are armed and ready with all of your favorite software available to you.

Keepass:
Will create protected database to use for your passwords, PINS, and credit card numbers… anything that you would like. There is a method to upload and attach documents to your records, so you could use something like this to protect other data such as;

There are some other applications that will create drive letters which are encrypted, but this is a great multi-task application. It should be mentioned that scanned copy of your documents will probably NOT serve as legal ID, but sometimes it more the information on the documents are what is important.

TrueCrypt Portable:
TrueCrypt is a software program that creates an encrypted file on your computer and lets you access the encrypted file using a drive letter. The program protects the encrypted file using keys that are protected by a separate TrueCrypt passphrase. This encryption is transparent to the user and is done locally at the user's computer. This means you can store a TrueCrypt file on a server and TrueCrypt will encrypt data before it is transmitted over the network.
